West Indies vice-captain Chris Gayle said his aim is to win the upcoming Cricket World Cup, which would mark a high point in his great career.

It is the highest score by a West Indian in this format. West Indies is presently in Southampton as part of preparations for the tournament. Its opening WC match is against Pakistan in Nottingham on May 31.
The 39-year-old, who will be making his fifth appearance in the showpiece event, is eagerly looking forward to the ten-team competition in England and Wales. “There is nothing to prove. The only thing now is to win the WC, that’s the goal for me. I want us to play well here in England and bring those smiles on the faces of our fans and lift the trophy at Lord’s,” Gayle told media persons after Windies’ training session on Tuesday.
