We already know that Xiaomi is working on a new wearable called Mi Band 4. The next-gen fitness wearable from the brand is reported to be the first in the series to come with a colour OLED display and AI assistant for voice commands. Now, a few more details of the fitness wearable have surfaced online, which are in line with previous rumours and confirm its launch is just around the corner.

According to a report by a Chinese publication, the new Mi Band 4 will ditch the monochrome display and bring onboard a coloured screen with an attractive UI. Xiaomi may launch the wearable in two variants: one with NFC and model number XMSH08HM and a non-NFC version with model number XMSH07HM. Both the Mi Band variants will reportedly have Bluetooth 5.0 to offer improved connectivity and better power efficiency than the Mi Band 3, which uses Bluetooth 4.2.

On the battery front, the Mi Band 4 is said to house a bigger 135mAh cell, up from a 110mAh cell on Mi Band 3. Considering, the next-gen fitness band from Xiaomi will pack a coloured display and a bunch of other improvements, the battery life will more and less going to be the same as its predecessor. The Mi Band 3 is rated to last up to 20 days on a single charge.

The screen size of the Mi Band 4 is vague at the moment, but we can tell you the wearable will have an improved Heart Rate Monitoring system. As for the price, the Mi Band 4 NFC version is tipped as RMB 499 (~Rs 5,000), while the standard version will be available at RMB 200-300 (~Rs 2,000-3,000). There is no information on the band launch date yet. 

Fitness wearables is yet another segment where Xiaomi has a stronghold, not just in China and India but on a global scale as well. The company’s Mi Band 3 sold more than 10 million units worldwide, helping Xiaomi climb to the second spot in the wearable market. Apple leads the chain with its Watch series smartwatches.
