School owner’s house burgled

Ghaziabad: The house of a private school owner in Ghaziabad’s Muradnagar area was burgled, and jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh and Rs 5 lakh cash were stolen on Wednesday. The owner of the house Mahipal Singh has been running City Public school in Muradnagar for the past 10 years.
Police said the burglars struct at his home when Singh went to the school along with his wife, who is also the principal, and his seven-year-old daughter, who studies in Class III.

“I left home around 8am but when I returned around 2pm, I found the lock of the gate of my house broken and the belongings scattered. When we checked the almirah, we found Rs 5 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh missing. The missing items included three gold bangles, a necklace, three gold rings, two gold earrings, gold bangles, etc,” said Singh.
Umesh Bahadur Singh, the SHO of Muradnagar police station said, “The unknown robbers have been booked under IPC sections 457 (house-trespass) and 380 (Theft). Preliminary investigation has revealed that two-three people entered the house between 12pm-1pm. We will soon arrest them.”
