Mumbai-Pune train travel time down

MUMBAI: Central Railway will speed up the running time of Mumbai-Pune Intercity Express by almost 40 minutes by introducing the ‘push and pull’ technique in which the locomotive is attached in the front as well as the rear.
The first run is likely to be from Friday. The train will leave CSMT at 6.45 am instead of 6.40 am and arrive in Pune at 9.20 am instead of 9.57 am. On its return, the train will save 35 minutes.
