Redmi K20 confirmed to get Hi-Res Audio, goes up for pre-orders in China

“The Redmi K20 will have great audio, but we still don’t know if there will be stereo speakers”

The Redmi K20, which launches in May 28th, has been teased extensively in the last few days. We had our first official look of the phone yesterday as Redmi posted a shot of the beautiful new gradient rear design in red colour. However, there’s a new Redmi K20 feature that has been teased today, this one related to the handset’s audio performance. The Redmi K20 will not only be a good gaming handset, thanks to Game Turbo 2.0, it will also offer superior audio because of the Hi-Res certification it has received.

If you’re not an audiophile, High-Resolution Audio (HRA) is an audio product design developed by JAS (Japan Audio Association) and CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) in collaboration with Sony. Furthermore, the Hi-Res term refers to a music format with lossless audio, capable of reproducing the full range of sound from recordings that have been mastered from better-than-CD quality music sources. In short, it is designed to give listeners the feel of actual music as it was meant to be delivered when recorded.

It will cost RMB 100 (about Rs 1,000) to book the phone, as per the website. Other official features of the device include a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 4,000mAh battery, triple cameras (48MP primary), and Game Turbo 2.0. The Redmi K20 is also coming to India.
