6 bike-borne dacoits chase man, stab him in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A gang of six dacoits on two bikes chased a 26-year-old bike rental firm employee for 1km before stabbing him multiple times and robbing him of his cellphone and cash at Halagevaderahalli, near RR Nagar, on Wednesday.
Ajay Kumar S, a resident of Uttarahalli and an inspector with Metro Bikes at Nayandahalli, was returning home at 1.15am when the gang tried to stop his bike on the pretext of asking for an address.
Ajay suspected they were robbers and sped away, police said. The gang chased him and kept trying to get Ajay to halt. He stopped only when he spotted an autorickshaw at Jayanna Circle and informed the auto driver that robbers were chasing him.

The gang caught up, threatened the auto driver at knifepoint and asked him to leave the spot. One of the gang members got down and snatched Ajay’s bike key and the others demanded that he hand over all his valuables. They robbed Ajay of his cellphone and Rs 30 in cash, and fled the spot after stabbing him four times, police said. Passersby rushed Ajay to a nearby hospital.
RR Nagar police, who received a medico-legal case notice, rushed to the hospital and took a complaint from Ajay.
