Brexit Party's Nigel Farage votes in EU electionsBrexit Party leader Nigel Farage voted in the European parliamentary election on Thursday (May 23) in Biggin Hill, Kent with his party on course to win the largest share of the vote. Mr Farage told a French TV reporter he hoped "to be the shortest lived MEP in history" and for the UK to leave the EU, as scheduled, by the end of October. The Brexit Party has maintained a big lead over both the Conservatives and Labour in polls on voting intentions. On the "Remain" side however, the vote will be splintered between several strongly pro-EU parties: the Liberal Democrats, Change UK, and the Green Party. No results are allowed to be published before 2100 GMT on Sunday (May 26) - when polls close across other parts of the EU. | |||||
