Congress candidate Su Thirunavukkarasu garnered majority votes in Tiruchirappalli parliamentary constituency to come out victorious.

Senior congress leader and former state party chief Thirunavukkarasar reigned supreme as he dominated the poll race by a whopping margin of 4,50,000 votes.Â
Since the counting of votes on Thursday morning, former TNCC chief Su Thirunavukkarasar took a comfortable lead with Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate Elangovan trailing behind.
DMDK's Elangovan was given ticket in AIADMK-led alliance while the Congress senior leader was opted for Tiruchirappalli Parliamentary constituency.
Trichy recorded a voting turnout of 71.89% in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
