KURUKSHETRA:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and sitting MLA from Naraingarh assembly constituency Nayab Singh Saini has won the Kurukshetra
Lok Sabha seats in his first contest.
It was being speculated before the elections results that the Congress candidate Nirmal Singh or
Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Arjun Singh Chautala would give a tough fight to Saini, but after the poll results, Saini has defeated them with a large margin.
Saini defeated Nirmal Singh with a vote margin of 3,84,591.
From 12.27 lakh electronic voting machine (EVM) votes and 2740 postal votes, BJP nominee Saini bagged around 6.88 lakh EVM and 2041 postal votes, scoring a vote share percentage at 55.98%.
Runner-up Congress candidate Nirmal Singh secured around 3.03 lakh EVM votes and 316 postal votes, scoring a vote share percentage of 24.71%.
The third number candidate is Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) Shashi bagging around 75,000 EVM votes and 92 postal votes, scoring vote share percentage of 6.15%.
Jannayak Janata Party’s (JJP) Jai Bhagwan Sharma got around 68,000 EVM votes and 76 postal votes, scoring a vote share percentage of 5.57%.
INLD's Arjun Chautala scored the fifth position bagging around 60,000 EVM votes and 105 postal votes, scoring a vote share percentage of 4.93%.
Whereas, NOTA has scored seventh position in Kurukshetra bagging 3165 EVM votes and 33 postal votes and scored 0.26%.
In Kurukshetra, Nayab Saini said, "I thank the people of Kurukshetra. Our party has won the elections on the national issues and in the name of development."
