Election to 38 parliamentary constituencies along with 18 Assembly segments was held in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on 18 April 2019. Vellore constituency election was called off due to huge seizure of money. Voters turnout for 38 parliamentary constituency stood at 71.38 per cent.
Apparently, it became an electoral battle between AIADMK-led alliance and DMK-led Secular Democratic Front. Indeed, Nam Tamilar Katchi, AMMK, Makkal Needhi Maiam are also in fray.
Election Commission (EC) has introduced Voter verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) along with EVM to ensure the credibility of the counting process.
8.00 a.m. : Counting begins in 43 counting centres across Tamil Nadu.
Postal votes are being counted in all the counting centres of Tamil Nadu.
