The initial trends suggest Narendra Modi magic has done a repeat performance of 2014 and may very well be on course to retain the chair of Prime Minister in 2019. BJP seemed to have staved off the opposition charge in UP, Bihar and Maharashtra while making inroads into West Bengal and Odisha. Even though Congress formed the government in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in late 2018, voters seemed to prefer Modi for the top job in the country.
