2 bros attacked over plot dispute

MOHALI: A group of around eight to 10 people attacked two brothers with sharp-edged weapons over a property dispute in Kharar on Wednesday. A video of the incident has gone viral.
According to police, the victims are Tarlochan Singh (26) and his elder brother, Satvir Singh (23), both residents of Jandpur. The incident took place in broad daylight in Jandpur near Kharar. Police said a dispute over a plot led to the attack. Cops have identified one of the accused and carried out raids at his hideouts.
Inspector Inderjeet Singhsaid that the victims in their statement to the police claimed that they own 1 kanal of land in Jandpur. On Wednesday, a person identified as Baldev Singh along with eight to nine other persons tried to put a signboard at the site. The brothers came to the site and told them that the land was owned by them. The accused had a heated argument with the brothers. After a while, they attacked the two with sticks and rods. The brothers are undergoing treatment at Kharar civil hospital. "We are in the process of registering an FIR. The accused will be arrested soon," said a police official.
