Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Thursday said that it is the people who scripted history in the country's politics by giving a huge mandate to retain an incumbent government at the Centre.
Congratulating BJP workers across the country for their hard work to ensure NDAs win, Das, a senior BJP leader, said the people rose above caste and religion and voted for development, which is an auspicious indication for the country.
The chief minister said only democracy and not vansavad' (dynasty) will work now.
The people have given an increased mandate to an incumbent government on the basis of its programmes and leadership. Under the skillful leadership of Narendra Modiji and Amit Shahji, security and development had been the issues in the elections, Das said reacting to the results and trends for NDA in the country.
The people have cleaned up the lies of the Congress, JMM and other opposition parties through its mandate. In Jharkhand too people negated the corrupt and selfish opposition alliance, which is start of a new chapter for the state, he said.
He said that the double engine government of the BJP -- at the Centre and in the state -- will fulfill the dreams of development in the state and development works will gather speed in the tribal Santhal Parganas.
The tribals of Jharkhand have become aware and they rejected parties who had treated them as a vote bank. Even Guruji (JMM president Shibu Soren) was not interested to contest the elections and was against an alliance with the Congress. But the son (Hemant Soren) did not support his father. Therefore, the people too did not support, Das claimed.
Shibu Soren is trailing to BJPs Sunil Soren in Dumka seat.
The BJP had won 12 seats while the JMM won two in 2014.
