Franklin back in major boost for Swans

Sydney have named superstar forward Lance Franklin to take on Collingwood to kick off the AFL's Indigenous-themed round on Friday night.

After a month off due to a hamstring injury, Franklin proved his fitness by completing the Swans' main training session on Wednesday night.

His return is a major boost for a Swans team coming off back-to-back wins and will test a Collingwood defence missing in-form duo Darcy Moore and Tom Langdon.

Franklin starred in the Swans' heartstopping win over the Magpies late last season, bagging six goals in a best-on-ground performance to lift his team over the line by two points.

Franklin injured his hamstring on the eve of the Swans' round six clash against Greater Western Sydney.

"He did all the training last night, did the whole session and looked good. He's back in the team, it's great to have him back," Swans coach John Longmire said.
