In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Jharsuguda, recorded a voter turnout of 78.95%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 82.2% and in 2009, 72.71% of Jharsuguda's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
