The would sway to the results of the due today. Exit polls announced Sunday gave a clear majority to the incumbent Narendra Modi – led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to return to power for the second consecutive five-year term.

Following the exit poll outcome, the witnessed their best single-day gain in a decade with the S&P BSE surging a massive 1,422 points on Monday. This wass also the best exit poll day gain for the since 1999.

Global cues

Asian shares were trading in the red in the early trade on Thursday with MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan easing 0.01 per cent.

On Wall Street, the US stocks ended lower in the overnight trade. 

In commodities, oil prices dropped on Thursday. Brent crude futures were at $70.62 per barrel at 6:30 am, down 0.5 per cent, from their last close.
