CHANDIGARH:
BJP's
Kirron Kher took early lead in the initial round of vote counting for Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat on Thursday. Kher is eyeing her second consecutive victory from the seat.
The actor-turned-politician won the Chandigarh seat in 2014 with a margin of 70,000 votes.
The seat is locked in a three-cornered fight between the BJP, AAP and Congress.
While BJP retained its sitting MP for the 2019 fight, the Aam Aadmi Party fielded former Union minister Harmohan Dhawan from the Chandigarh constituency. Congress'
Pawan Kumar Bansal is also in the fray.
The constituency recorded 70.62% voter turnout during the polling held on May 19.
