KALYAN: A 38-year-old unemployed man killed his 70-year-old father, a retired income tax officer, by stabbing him with scissors and hitting him with a hammer in Dombivli late Monday, for not giving money for daily expenses. The suspect Arvind Harke, who has been jobless for three years after being suspended from his job at BARC, was arrested on Tuesday.

Police said Arvind was dependent on his father, Subhash Harke, for his daily expenses, but Subhash recently stopped giving him money.
According to police, Arvind had an argument with Subhash on Monday night after learning that his father was helping relatives financially instead of giving him money. During the argument, Arvind allegedly attacked his father with scissors and a hammer and fled when neighbours rushed into their home on hearing cries. Arvind was arrested later.
