For us, Lauda Air was initially a competitor for many years and then, with the takeover in 2001, it suddenly became part of Austrian Airlines. Many of our employees came to aviation through his inspiration and are now a proud part of our company. Our understanding of unconditional service dates back to this period, as does our award-winning catering. Niki Lauda was never an employee of Austrian Airlines, but at the same time we owe him a lot. We will keep this legacy in appreciative memory. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family,” said the Austrian Airlines Management Board.
