Here's When Orange Is the New Black's Final Season Will Arrive

When now know when the final episodes of Orange Is the New Black will arrive. Netflix unveiled the Season 7 premiere date with a sentimental behind-the-scenes teaser featuring the cast singing the show's opening theme. Mark your calendars, the beloved prison drama begins its final run on Friday, July 26.

Season 7 will see the Litchfield Penitentiary face a new flurry of problems as their story comes to a close. But for those of you hoping for a happy ending for Red (Kate Mulgrew), who was last seen barreling down a dark path, don't get your hopes up.

"I know how [my character's arc is] going to end and it's sad," Kate Mulgrew previously told TV Guide. "But of course, given [series creator] Jenji Kohan's proclivity for the truth and for what she considers to be a considerate reflection of what happens in prison, it's authentic. It's hard. It's what happens to women of my type, age and disposition under these circumstances."

The final season may not have arrived yet but there's already talk of a potential sequel, meaning we might not be completely done with Kohan's unique world once Orange wraps. No word yet on who or what it's about but we've got our fingers crossed that this engrossing story will continue in some form or another.
