JIND: Police booked a person for killing his wife with sharp edged weapon, doubting her of an
illicit relation. The incident occurred on Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Pinki (32), was married in Loan village of
Narwana town of
Jind. She is survived by three children. Talking to TOI, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Jagat Singh, said that the accused, Seva alias Chela (42) and his wife got into verbal spat on Tuesday and when she went to sleep at her home, he attacked her with sharp edged weapon following which she died on the spot.
After that the accused attempted to commit suicide and touched a live wire passing through near his house but it pushed him back with the accused having sustained serious injuries, said the police official. DSP said that a case has been registered under section 302 (murder) against the accused who is now being treated in a hospital.
Police officials said that action against him could be initiated only after his health conditions had improved. Singh said that body of victim has been handed over to their kin after an autopsy.
Sources said that the accused Seva used to sell vegetables in an auto and his wife was a labourer. A few days ago, Seva Singh had sustained injuries in his leg and it was fractured following an accident of his auto while selling vegetables. He was on rest after the incident and would fight with his wife.
