Bantwal Rural police station rescued three milch cows and two calves that were found near a hillock behind the house of Hassainar at Siddakatte and seized them under Section 102 of CrPC (power of police officer to seize certain property which may be alleged or suspected to have been stolen). Police said an investigation is on into the ownership of cattle that were found, following the raid conducted on a tip-off on the presence of cattle there.
In the last instance, personnel of Dharmasthala police station on rounds, intercepted a pick-up vehicle that was headed towards Kokkada from Nelyadi at Teppemajalu. Police found six heads of cattle that were being transported in a cruel manner.
