Indore: Unidentified miscreants stole over Rs 27 lakh from a trader’s car just about 400 metres away from Juni Indore police station on Tuesday night. The incident took place in front of New Sardar Steels in Loha Mandi at 8.30pm. Shop owner Amarjeet Singh Chhabra and his son Rashmit came out of their shop with a bag containing Rs 27.25 lakh when they saw one of the tyres of their car inflated.
Amarjeet said one of their employees was changing the tyre when four youths, who were fighting with each other near the car, took away the bag from car. Amarjeet told mediapersons that after seeing flattened tyre, he kept the bag on the rear seat of the car.
He said that four youths reached there and started fighting with each other when his employee was changing the tyre. He alleged that one of the youth was crying for help to distract them. Chhabra found the bag missing from the seat when the youth left the scene. He said that he searched the bag in the car and in the shop but all in vain.
Amarjeet Singh said they also searched for the youth in the area but they could not be tracked after which they informed the police. Sources claimed that the incident happened about 400 metres away from the police station but the police took half-an-hour to reach the spot. CSP (Juni Indore) KC Malviya said that the CCTVs installed near crime spotare being examined to trace the accused.
