Liverpool 'place 200m euro tag on Sadio Mane'

Liverpool fans have been handed a transfer boost after Real Madrid seemingly made a decision on Sadio Mane.

Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the Senegal international, but Madrid president Florentino Perez believes Mane is too expensive.

This comes according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda as quoted by the Express.

The pundit said:

“Zidane has differences with Thibaut Courtois, having wanted to continue with Keylor.

“Pogba is closer than we think.

“And Mane, Liverpool has asked 200 million euros (£175m) and Florentino has said no.”

Henderson on missing key goal

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted Trent Alexander-Arnold’s quickfire corner against Barcelona even took him by surprise.

It was the all important moment of the match as the defender crossed the ball into Divock Origi’s path.

The Belgian made it 4-0 with a clever finish as Jurgen Klopp’s side qualified for the Champions League final.

But the Reds’ skipper has revealed he missed the stunning moment Alexander-Arnold hit the ball.

Speaking to UEFA via Liverpool FC’s website Henderson told:

“I think I was sort of talking to someone and organising something, just protection for the corner.

“I’d turned around, I’d seen the ball flying into the back of the net. I didn’t really know what had happened.

“It was an amazing goal to score in a game of that magnitude. It was fantastic for a young player to have the awareness to be able to do that and put in the ball and obviously for Divock to react to that.

“It was a great finish in the end. So yes, it was an amazing goal in the end and that summed up the night really.

“It was an amazing night. It was a special night that people will be talking about for a long time.”

Liverpool legend sends De Ligt transfer message

Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt looks set to sign for La Liga champions Barcelona.

And after emerging as one of the most sought after signings of the summer the Dutchman had been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

The ECHO understands Liverpool would rather prioritise other areas than sign the centre-half.

But Reds legend Steve Nicol has urged Jurgen Klopp to “go and get” a player of De Ligt’s quality.

“I’ll tell you what, De Ligt and Van Dijk at any club would be arguably the best centre-back pairing in world football, no question.”

Liverpool and Man City linked with striker

Liverpool and Premier League rivals Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan youngster, Sebastiano Esposito.

The centre-forward impressed as Italy reached the final of the European Under-17 Championships against Netherlands at the weekend.

But according to Italian publication, Calcio Mercato, the Serie A outfit are defiant that the 16-year-old will not leave the club this summer.

Hilarious video of Salah sleeping

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shared hilarious videos to his Instagram story as the Reds travelled to Marbella on Monday night.

Liverpool are set to spend a week in Spain preparing for the Champions League final, and were in high spirits on their way there.

The England midfielder, who was debuting a bold new look, posted clips of Mohamed Salah napping on the plane.

Oxlade-Chamberlain comically said:

“Like a baby. Sleeping like a baby.

“The Egyptian King, look at him. This it what Egyptian Kings do. They just get their z’ds.”

Harry Wilson to Wolves?

Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson has been linked with a potential move to Premier League side Wolves.

The Welshman has enjoyed a sensational season with Derby County who will meet Aston Villa in the play-off final at Wembley on May 27.

Max Kruse latest

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Werder Bremen’s Max Kruse.

With the player set to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer, Anfield has been tipped as a potential new home for the veteran striker.

The German would no doubt offer experience to Jurgen Klopp’s already potent attack, but is said to be seeking a ‘major contract’.

According to Sport1 via SportWitness Bayern Munich are keen on acquiring the 31-year-old.

Pep Guardiola can't expect universal acclaim

Manchester City won the FA Cup on Saturday in a 6-0 rout of Watford to claim the domestic treble.

And while their achievement is incredible, Pep Guardiola can’t expect universal acclaim says James Pearce.

There’s the small matter of a net spend of around £1.2billion over the past decade which has created the most expensively assembled squad in the history of football.

“During the most one-sided FA Cup final for 116 years City brought on £150million worth of substitutes in Leroy Sane, Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones.

“By the time the sixth goal went in even Guardiola looked embarrassed by the gaping chasm between City and Watford.

“When you are bankrolled by the bottomless riches of Abu Dhabi, it’s hardly a tale of overcoming the odds to triumph in the face of adversity.”

Timo Werner latest

Timo Werner looks likely to depart Red Bull Leipzig this summer following comments from boss Ralf Rangnick.

Liverpool have been repeatedly linked with the striker who has one year remaining on his contract.

Speaking on German television station Sport1, Rangnick said:

Our position is that if he does not renew the contract, he should change clubs.

“He would first have to agree with a club and this club would have to contact RB, which has not happened to my knowledge.”

The German forward would be a great attacking option for Jurgen Klopp having scored 16 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances this season.
