BMW M2 CS To Have About 450 HP And Adaptive Suspension

A claimed product bulletin of the upcoming BMW M2 CS has surfaced and reveals a host of important details about the even-faster M2 variant.

While the bulletin, posted by Bimmerpost, does not look legitimate to us, details are said to have been confirmed to be accurate from a reliable source within the forums.

Looking at the bulletin itself, it doesn’t take a genius to notice that a number of things are off. For starters, the picture of the ‘M2 CS’ included is clearly a rendering based around one of the first press pictures of the M2 Competition. Additionally, the bulletin states that the car will have special M2 CS badging and M2 CS model designations on the door sills but goes on to provide images of M4 CS badging.

However, the information contained in the bulletin is thought to be accurate. For example, it is reported that the sports car will feature Adaptive M suspension which promises to make it discernibly different than the M2 Competition and the standard M2 before it.

On the engine front, it is believed that the CS will be powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine of the last M3 and M4 but tuned to make 450 hp and 405 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This engine will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and buyers will have the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch.

Elsewhere, the M2 CS will be offered with carbon ceramic brakes and come outfitted with numerous distinct exterior parts, including a carbon fiber roof, carbon lip spoiler, new carbon hood, carbon front splitter, and a unique rear diffuser. Customers will have the option of either gloss black or matte gold 19-inch forged alloy wheels.

BMW has yet to acknowledge the existence of the M2 CS let alone stated when it will be unveiled. However, we would be shocked if it wasn’t released by the end of the year.
