A 40-year-old woman has been accused of twice raping a young girl, more than a year after a 53-year-old man was charged with sexually abusing the same child.
The woman allegedly sexually assaulted the seven-year-old girl at a home in the Hunter region of New South Wales in June 2017.
A 53-year-old man, who was known to the girl, was also charged in April 2018 for sexually assaulting the girl. He remains before the courts.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad launched an investigation in October 2017 following reports a young girl had been sexually assaulted.
Police arrested the woman, who was known to the girl, at Waratah Police Station at about 10.15pm yesterday.
She has been charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years old.
After being refused bail she appeared at Newcastle Local Court yesterday, was granted conditional bail, and will re-appear at Maitland Local Court on July 17.
