NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old youth was gunned down inside a shop in outer Delhi’s Najafgarh on Tuesday evening. The killers came on a motorcycle and fired six rounds before fleeing.
DCP (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse identified the victim as Mohit Mor from Bahadurgarh, Haryana. He was active on popular video sharing app TikTok and had over five lakh followers there.
Mor had gone to a friend’s photocopy shop around 5pm when he was intercepted by three men, two of whom had their faces covered with helmets. They fired six times at Mor, hitting him thrice, and fled. A CCTV camera captured the incident. One of the assailant’s face could be seen in the footage while another was wearing black track pants and a check shirt.
Mor was admitted to a nearby hospital by locals where doctors declared him brought dead. His body will be handed over to his family after autopsy.
Police said Mor did not have any criminal background and it is suspected that the
murder is the fallout of personal enmity over money.
Mor lived in Najafgarh and worked as a trainer at a local gym. He used to frequently post funny videos of him and his friends on TikTok. He had uploaded one such video just an hour before he was shot. He also used to upload short films on YouTube.
Police are scanning footage from other cameras for more details and circulating the images among informers. They are also scanning Mor’s phone details to see if he had been threatened.
