To create awareness, bike rally and Nukkad Natak organized
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Bike rally and Nukkad Natak on drowning prevention awareness was organised by Mandar and No More foundation (MANS) in association with Rotary Club East Bhopal on Sunday.
The bike rally covered seven water bodies along with some other prominent locations. Apart from this, a 15 minute long Nukkad Natak was also organised at some of the locations in between the rally.
The rally was flagged off by Arun Gurtoo, Former DGP and Vice Chancellor, Dhiran Batta, District Governor, Rotary International District-3040, Payoj Joshi, President, Vande Matram Utsav Samiti, Reeta Rout, Director, Sri Bhavan Bharti School, Alpana Mishra, President, and Ajay Bhatnagar, Secretary of Rotary Club East Bhopal at Vande Mataram Square, Bittan Market.
Around 20 participants were there in the rally that began from Vande Mataram Square to 10 number stop, 11 number stop, 1100 quarters, Manisha Market Lake, WALMI, Kaliasot Dam, Sakshi Dhaba, Kerwa Police Station, Maut Ka Kuan, Sair Sapata, Jawahar Chowk, Apex Bank Sqaure, New Market, and finally concluded at Boat Club.
Through Nukkad Natak presented at Manisha Market, Bittan Market, Kerwa Dam, Kaliasot Dam, and Boat Club, a message was passed on to the public that, “Life is precious and one must keep themselves safe.
No one should act carelessly near any water body such as deep river, dam, and ocean. People must know how to behave there.” Artistes also demonstrated the technique of taking breaths in such conditions when someone is drowning.
In the absence of awareness, there is an average of 14 deaths per hour in the country and highest in Madhya Pradesh. People do not care about safety when they visit water bodies and for the sake of adventure, they also approach near to the dangerous water bodies. That’s the reason that MANS has organized this event to aware the people.
