Manchester City and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.
City see Maguire as the perfect replacement for the departing Vincent Kompany , while United are believed to be long-term admirers of the England international.
Jose Mourinho was desperate to bring in Maguire last year but it’s now believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given the green light to pursue the 26-year-old.
Any deal for Maguire would likely surpass the world record fee paid for a defender when Liverpool spent £75m to prize Virgil van Dijk away from Southampton .
But despite having a reluctance to sell in the past, the Mirror believe the Foxes could be tempted to sell the 26-year-old for a similar fee to what Liverpool paid for the Dutchman.
