Yavatmal: Additional sessions
judge AM Ambalkar of Pusad court on Tuesday convicted a
youth under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (
Pocso) Act, 2012.
The convict has been identified as Ankush Laxman Boke (30), a resident of Gopwadi in Pusad tehsil of Yavatmal district.
According to prosecution,
father of the victim lodged a report with Pusad police station that Ankush exploited his 13-year-old daughter sexually on the pretext of marriage. The
minor girl had gone missing from the house and was traced at Isapur village a few days later.
When the girl narrated about the events in details since she had left the house, the father lodged a complaint with the police.
The girl’s medical exam confirmed her
sexual abuse and the cops arrested the
accused on February 27.
After hearing both sides, the court sentenced the accused to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 37 years under Pocso and various sections of the IPC.
