Ludhiana

In view of Lok Sabha elections 2019, the counting of votes for Ludhiana parliamentary constituency would be held at Punjab Agricultural University campus, here, on May 23, 2019. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today visited all the counting centres and inspected the preparations there. He was also accompanied by representatives of different political parties as well.

While providing information, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal stated that the counting of votes for all 9 Vidhan Sabha constituencies falling in Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency-7 would be held at different places in Punjab Agricultural University campus. Whereas the counting of 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Ludhiana district, that are part of Fatehgarh Sahib Parliamentary Constituency would be held at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, here.

He informed that the counting of votes for Ludhiana East constituency would be held at the library hall of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, PAU, of Ludhiana South at 2^nd floor, Examination Hall cum Lecture Theatre Complex, PAU, of Atam Nagar at Examination Hall, near Kisan Training Centre, PAU, of Ludhiana Central at Gymnasium Hall, Ground Floor, PAU, of Ludhiana West at Gymnasium Hall, Ground Floor, PAU, of Ludhiana North at Multipurpose Hall, Government Senior Secondary Smart School, PAU, of Gill at Ground floor, Examination Hall cum Theatre Complex, opposite Department of Vegetable Science & Fruit Science, PAU, of Dakha at Sukhdev Bhawan, Dining Hall, PAU, and of Jagraon constituency at Dr DS Dev Examination Hall, College of Agriculture, PAU.

Similarly, the counting of votes for five Vidhan Sabha constituencies that are part of Fatehgarh Sahib Parliamentary constituency would be held at: of Khanna at 2^nd floor, GNE Polytechnic College, of Samrala at New Sports Hall Complex, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, of Sahnewal at 2^nd floor, Examination Hall, GNE Polytechnic College, Gill Road, of Payal at 2^nd floor, Mechanical Hall, GNE Polytechnic College and of Raikot constituency at 1^st floor of GNE Polytechnic College.

Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that adequate number of counting teams have been deputed for the counting of votes for all 9 Vidhan Sabha constituencies falling under Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency-7, whereas reserve teams would also be deputed. He stated that micro observers, counting supervisors, assistant counting supervisors etc would also be deputed. For the benefit of media persons, a media centre for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency would be set up at Sukhdev Bhawan, PAU, while for Fatehgarh Sahib constituency at GNE Polytechnic College, here.
