CHENNAI: The 25-hour countdown for the launch of
PSLV-C46 carrying
Risat-2B -- a radar imaging earth observation satellite -- is progressing after it began at 4.30am on Tuesday.
The launch is scheduled at 5.30am on Wednesday from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
It will be the 48th mission of
PSLV and the 14th flight in 'core-alone' configuration where solid strap-on motors will not be used.
The launch vehicle will place Risat-2B, weighing 615kg, in an orbit at a distance of 555km and at an inclination of 37 degrees.
The satellite is aimed at providing support to agriculture, forestry and disaster management.
