When Rihanna confirmed the rumours that she was indeed launching her fashion line, Fenty, with LVMH, the excitement about the upcoming venture could be felt all over the internet. And now, the duo has unveiled details that everyone has been dying to know too. Ahead, Vogue gives you a lowdown of the what, where, when and why.
Who is Rihanna collaborating with for her fashion line launch?
LVMH, the French luxury conglomerate, is backing Rihanna’s fashion line. Interestingly, Rihanna is the first woman of colour to have created an original brand with the luxury conglomerate. Fenty Fashion also happens to be the first new house LVMH has created since Christian Lacroix, which was launched in 1987.
What is Fenty?
“Fenty epitomises both the spirit of Rihanna and a new approach to modern luxury: agile and dynamic; elevated yet egalitarian; bold, free, fearless,” read the brand’s press statement. And Rihanna explained the idea behind the fashion label as well. “Women are forces of the earth. We are multifaceted, complex, vulnerable yet bulletproof, and Fenty speaks to all of our intricacies,” she said.
“Some days I want to be submissive, many days I’m completely in charge and most days I feel like being both… so it was imperative that we created a line versatile enough to embrace and celebrate us in that way,” added Rihanna. “The collections are easily worn together and [are] meant to be staples in our wardrobe.”
What can we expect from Fenty Fashion?
Needless to say, the fashion label will borrow sartorial influences from Rihanna’s personal style and characteristics, and will comprise ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories and eyewear collections. Expect empowering clothes drenched with an attitude—statement shoulders, classic denim and narrow waists, all in neutral shades.
When is Fenty Fashion launching and where can I buy Rihanna’s collection?
Fenty Fashion is all set to debut online on Fenty.com on May 29, but before that, Paris will see a special pop-up store launching on May 24.

How much will Fenty Fashion cost?
Coming to the prices, sunglasses start from Rs 33,500, clothes from Rs 70,000, leather shoes from Rs 43,000 and accessories from Rs 29,000.
Will there be a fashion show to launch the brand?
Following a ‘see-now-wear-now’ model, the brand will operate outside of the traditional fashion week schedule and stick to retailing via their website, with multiple collection releases in the pipeline.
