AMBALA: The government railway police (GRP)
Ambala Cantonment have recovered bodies of two unidentified men from Ambala-Saharanpur rail track at around 8.30am on Monday. The same was confirmed by GRP Ambala Cantonment SHO inspector Ram Bachan.
The GRP officials said both men are suspected to have died after falling off a train on Ambala-Saharanpur rail track near Nanhera village in
Ambala district. As per sources, the railway workers witnessed bodies on the rail track in the morning hours following which they intimated the GRP, which reached the spot and took the bodies into their custody for further investigation.
Investigation officer from GRP Ambala, sub-inspector Raj Kumar said, “A body of a man in his 30s was found on the railway track and a ticket from
Amritsar to Ambala and a mobile phone has been recovered from him. In the second incident, body of a man was lying at some distance near kilometre number 257 and no identity card or any document was recovered which could disclose his identity. Using the recovered mobile phone, we have contacted some persons and efforts are being made to identify the two deceased. It is hard to ascertain as to how the incidents occurred. We are probing the case.”
The bodies of both the deceased are kept at the mortuary in the local hospital and further proceedings will be done once they are identified.
