Nagpur: Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air Command and Jaya Kumar, president of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA, Regional) visited Air Force Station, Sonegaon, on Tuesday.
On arrival, the Air Marshal and Jaya Kumar were received by Gp Capt SK Tiwari, station commander, Air Force Station, Sonegaon, and Anamika Tiwari, president of AFWWA (Local).
Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar was presented ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival at the base. Subsequently, the Air Marshal took stock of operational, maintenance and administrative aspects to assess the operational readiness of the station. Kumar also laid the foundation stone for boundary wall at the new site of AF station in Sonegaon, which is the first step towards eventual re-location of the station.

Jaya Kumar planted a sapling as an initiative to create eco-friendly environment that take shape along with the Air Force Station. Jaya Kumar took stock of the welfare activities undertaken by AFWWA (Local) during her visit to the station medicare centre and thrift shop ‘Sakhee’.
She addressed ‘Sanginis’ of Sonegaon AF station and appreciated the steps initiated to ensure good health and well being of families.
