As per John Heimlich, A4A Vice President and Chief Economist, air travel is the nation’s safest form of transportation, and it is now more affordable than ever before. U.S. carriers are making airline flights more and more accessible, helping more and more Americans are flying.

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, inflation-adjusted air fares declined for a fourth consecutive year in 2018.

With a series of strikes, computer glitches and grounding of Boeing 737 creating ripples in the aviation sector, it is to be seen whether record number of passengers will fly the U.S. airlines this summer.
