Muslims pray for Modi’s comeback

Gorakhpur: A section of Muslims, led by BJP Alpsankhyak Morcha’s former state executive council member, on Tuesday performed chadarposhi at Hazrat Nakko Shah Baba mausoleum and prayed for Narendra Modi’s return as the Prime Minister.
“We prayed for Modiji. We are sanguine that the BJP will form a majority government (at the Centre) once again and he (Modi) will become the PM,” said Irfan Ahmad, the Morcha’s former state executive council member.

During the 2017 assembly polls, the same group had performed chadarposhi and prayed for the saffron party. “Our prayers were answered. The BJP formed the government and Yogiji became the chief minister too. We have come to the darbar of Baba once again, hoping that our wish will be granted,” Ahmad added.
In this general elections, the BJP has fielded Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan while the SP-BSP alliance roped in Ram Bhuwal Nishad who was the fisheries minister in the erstwhile BSP government.
