Vijayvargiya frontrunner for MP chief minister’s post?

Nagpur: With the exit polls giving thumbs up for the BJP, there is strong possibility that once Narendra Modi government begins its second innings, the party would waste no time in toppling the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh. It is learnt the plan was discussed at a secret meeting with top RSS functionaries here on Monday.
At the hush-hush meeting held at Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s home, BJP strongman from MP Kailash Vijayvargiya was specially present. The RSS team was led by Bhaiyyaji Joshi, the sarkaryavah who is also from Indore like Vijayvargiya. Both are very close to Gadkari. Vijayvargiya has emerged as frontrunner for the CM post if Congress government headed by Kamal Nath is unable to prove its majority.
The BJP leader from Indore arrived hurriedly for the secret meeting just at the time when the MP state president of BJP Gopal Bhargava submitted a letter to the governor seeking a test of majority by the Nath government that came to power last year with support of two BSP MLAs and four independents.
While Vijayvargiya was busy steering party campaign in Bengal, Bhargava lost patience and shot the letter the day after exit poll results were out.
To pre-empt Bhargava’ move, Vijayvargiya took Gadkari’s help and roped in Joshi and other RSS bosses to get support, sources indicated. In 2009, Vijayvargiya had impressed all with well organised national executive meet in which Gadkari took charge as national president.
In the Lok Sabha polls, he played an important role in party’s surge in Bengal in the face stiff resistance from ruling Trinamool Congress Party and chief minister Mamata Banerjee. He is hopeful the BJP will make deep inroads this time into Bengal and take its tally to over 20 seats.

Vijayvargiya is expecting a reward for his good show and is hoping the RSS backs him for CM post. Though he wanted to play his cards after the new government settles in Delhi, the letter by Bhargava caught him unawares.
His video clip claiming that toppling the Congress government in MP was a “matter of 24 hours” has reportedly been in circulation on social media. According to sources Vijayvargiya would prefer the CM’s post instead of that of party president as Amit Shah’s term ends next year.
