Gujarat Board Class X result 2019 released, 66.97% students pass

AHMEDABAD: The class Xth results this year was 66.97% which is on the lower side as compared to 2018. About 0.53% less students cleared their SSC examination this year as compared to last year. The English medium students posted a much higher pass out percentage than their counter parts. A total of 23.53% more students cleared their examination from English Medium as compared to Gujarati Medium students.
The pass out percentage of English medium student was 88.11% as compared to 64.58% of the Gujarati Medium Students. In 2018 the pass out percentage of English Medium students was 90.12%.
The Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board on Tuesday declared the results for SSC. Of the 8.23 lakh regular students who appeared for the examination, only 5.51 lakh cleared their examination which was a pass out per cent of 66.97%. While of the 2.53 lakh repeaters who appeared for the examination only 17.23% cleared their examination. Among the 24,955 external students who appeared only 2,529 cleared their examination with a pass out percentage of 10.13%.
According to officials this year around 32,583 more regular students wrote their SSC examination as compared to 2017. The Girls one again showed that they were much better than the boys. The pass out percentage of girls was 9.81% per cent more than that of the boys. The success ratio of girls was 72.64 per cent, while that of the boys was only 62.83 per cent.
This year at least in four subjects including Science and Technology, Social science, Mathematics, English second language and Sanskrit a total 234 students have scored 100 out of 100. According to board officials, 4,638 students failed in one subject, while 22,518 students failed to clear their examination in two subjects. These students will be allowed to take the re-test which while be held in July.
Among the districts Surat had the highest passout percentage of 79.83% while the lowest passout percentage was of Chhota Udepur that was 46.38%
However, this year the number of schools getting 100% result was 366 which was 368 in 2018. This was a drop of nearly 2 schools as compared to 2018.
