Quota puzzle holds back Lucknow University cut-off list

Lucknow University
LUCKNOW: Lucknow University has declared results of the undergraduate entrance examinations, but candidates will have to wait longer for the cut-off list because officials have not been able to finalise the seat matrix after including 10% quota for the economically weaker section (EWS).
The results declared on Sunday shows the marks obtained by candidates while the category-wise cut-off for each course will be announced only after "vertical and horizontal reservations are applied". It is not clear yet how many seats will be increased to accommodate the EWS quota candidates.

The issue was discussed at a meeting between pro-vice chancellor professor RK Singh and registrar SK Shukla on Monday. The registrar later told TOI that the final decision on cut-off marks would be taken at a meeting of the admissions committee on May 23. "That meeting will also discuss the number of seats that need to be increased to implement the EWS quota," he said.
Counselling for admission into UG courses is likely to start later this month, during which candidates will be able to lock their respective seat. Selected candidates will have to submit Rs 3,200 to register themselves for the counselling. They will have to upload their education certificates and reservation documents on the LU website using the login ID provided to them.
