A day after the last phase of Lok Sabha poll, dairy major Amul has announced that it will hike milk prices in major markets by ₹2 per litre due to an increase in the cost of production, especially cattle feed.

The new prices will come into effect from Tuesday. “We had revised prices last in March 2017,” said R.S. Sodhi, managing director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which owns the Amul brand of milk and milk products.
