Chennai teenager assaults girlfriend, mother for denying him money to buy liquor

CHENNAI: The Chennai city police have arrested a teenager for assaulting his girlfriend and her mother after they denied him money to buy liquor.
Police said Santosh Kumar, 18, of Vinayapuram Puzhal had been in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl for over three years. He is unemployed while the girl works in a beauty parlour.
On Sunday, when she was returning from work with her mother, Santosh demanded money from her to buy liquor. She refused to give him money.

Santosh, who was already in an inebriated condition, did not allow them to go home and kept demanding money. But the mother-daughter duo were not ready to give him money. In a fit of rage, Santosh assaulted the girl and her mother.
On being informed by onlookers, police detained Santhosh for questioning. He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.
