CHANDIGARH: Passengers who boarded the Chandigarh-Lucknow 12232 train from the Chandigarh railway station last night had a harrowing time as there was no water available in the washrooms.
Adding to the woes, the complaint number was also not attended by anyone, which passengers tried for hours to register their complaint.
The passengers complained that why the railways had helpline numbers when there was no official available round the clock to respond to the issues of the passengers.
The train started at 9 pm from Chandigarh on Friday and reached Lucknow at 10 am on Saturday. For all these hours, passengers tried to register their complaint to the authorities concerned, but to no avail.
Arvind Singh, one of the passengers who boarded the train from Chandigarh, said he managed to get the contact details of the RPF, Saharanpur, and he tried the number a lot of times, but could not complain. He requested an official in Bareilly, but he showed his helplessness. He said no one responded to the helpline numbers.
He said a mobile number was also printed on the ticket and when he tried the number an official picked up the call and informed him that he was from the anti-corruption bureau and he could not resolve his issue.
Passengers who boarded the S-2 coach were without any water facility in the washrooms and manage to use their drinking water.
Ambala division official said no compliant was received by them on the social media or by their staff deployed at all the coaches and they were not aware about any such problem faced by the passengers during their travel.
