Kanpur: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday paid a visit to the house of martyr Army jawan Rohit Kumar Yadav at Ambedkar Nagar Derapur house in Kanpur Dehat to console his family.
During his meeting with the martyr's family members, the former chief minister urged PM Modi to immediately release a cheque of Rs one crore to Rohit's family. He also asked the state government to announce a compensation of Rs one crore and a job to his family.
Later talking to mediapersons, Akhilesh took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meditation telecast by TV channels from inside a cave near the Kedarnath on Saturday prior to the last phase of election. He said, "One only goes inside a cave to meditate in search of peace from all kinds of worldly desires. But, I have heard, the cave, where PM meditated, is equipped with all modern facilities, including bed and TV cameras. I would also love to visit such a cave equipped with all kinds of luxuries", he added.
When asked about his and BSP supremo Mayawati's meeting with Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu, Akhilesh said, "Like us, he (Chandra Babu Naidu) too wants a new Prime Minister. On May 23 after election results, the country will certainly get a new PM.”

When questioned whether Congress will come with his 'Mahagathbandhan', Yadav said, "It's not a question of Congress Party, we all, including the 'Mahagatbandhan', are working for the same cause.
The SP chief while attacking the Modi-led BJP government over growing number of deaths of soldiers on the border, said, "The anger is escalating among the countrymen as the situation is going out of hands in Kashmir because of the manner in which the things are being handled in Jammu & Kashmir by the present BJP regime".
