NEW DELHI: A man was apprehended from AIIMS Metro Station on Saturday morning after he was found entering the tunnel towards the INA station.
A CISF official, who apprehended him, said he belonged to West Bengal and had been brought to the capital with a promise of a job. "On realising that he was being lured in for bonded labour, he ran to save himself when the train stopped at the station. The metro was headed towards Huda City Centre and he tried to escape by running towards the tunnel. However, his movement was caught on the CCTV camera and he was immediately nabbed," said a senior CISF official.
The incident occurred at 11.12am and the passenger has been identified as 26-year old Tabuk Malik, the official said.
"The DMRC staff and the police were informed, who took Kumar in custody and questioned him. He was later sent in for counselling and then released," the CISF official added.
