NAGPUR: Maoists have set two forest depot on fire at Dadapur village, Chhipri village in north Gadchiroli in the wee hours of Sunday.
A road roller at Kumarguda village in Bhamragarh taluka has also been set on fire by the Maoist during the 'bandh'. The roller was engaged in the road construction project.
The Maoists had called 'bandh' in the district on Sunday to protest the alleged fake encounters of their senior leader Ramko Narote and Shilpa Dhurva.

Sources in the district stated that a sizable number of armed Maoists assembled at the Dadapur village shortly after Saturday midnight putting up banners at different places in the locality where they had torched 27 vehicles and two campsite office of a road construction company on May 1 followed by a blast at Lendhari nullah in which 15 Quick response team (QRT) jawans and a private driver of a Bolero pick up van was killed.
In the latest banners put up by the Maoists at Dadapur now, the Reds have repeatedly protested against the killings of Ramko and Shilpa at Gundurvahi village in south Gadchiroli on April 27. Ramko's husband Bhaskar Hichhami is likely to be the mastermind behind the heightened violence of the Maoists in the district since her killing.
