RSS pulls out all stops for SAD-BJP in Punjab

JALANDHAR: A day before the polling, RSS is leaving no stone unturned to tilt the balance in support of SAD-BJP in Punjab.
RSS functionaries are holding meetings with BJP and even SAD leaders across the state to gather their feedback and to finalize the micro-management to ensure high turnout in the urban areas where Modi factor is working favourably, especially among Hindu voters.
While RSS frontal organizations intensely worked under ‘Matdata Jagrookta Abhiyaan’ (voter awareness mission) to increase voter turn out, on Sunday its functionaries held meetings at different levels with BJP and Akali leaders to gather their feedback. “Micro-management was discussed at booth levels so that voter turnout can be increased especially in urban areas as Hindu voters are drifting towards BJP-SAD,” said a BJP office-bearer who participated in one such meeting and gave his report to a senior RSS functionary.

A common refrain among BJP and Sangh Parivaar is that several of the urban middle class or upper middle class Hindu voters stay away from voting and if they were made to reach the polling booths, prospects of SAD-BJP could improve. RSS quarters hold that high percentage of voting helps to neutralize the en bloc voting by the sections supporting the Congress.
What has been unusual this time with involvement of RSS is that it has been working very actively at SAD seats. “We are working for Modi and face of candidate is not important for us,” said a Swayamsewak ,who has also been working at ground level to increase the turnout.
