VIJAYAWADA: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested three youths, including a woman, involved in various theft cases on Sunday. Three of them have their unique modus operandi to steal things.
Assistant commissioner of police (
ACP) for CCS K Prakashrao said that they have seized Rs 6.85 lakh worth of gold, cash, bikes and cigarettes from the three of them.
In the first case, a two-year old woman Veeranki Jyothi from Pamarru turned a thief after her husband passed away. As she was also having health issues, she committed three thefts stealing gold ornaments from women at crowded places to earn easy money.
M Narasimhulu (22), a native of Patamata in
Vijayawada, has a unique modus operandi to break into small pan shops on road side. He broke into four shops and swept away the cigarettes. Cops recovered Rs 15,000 worth of cigarettes and Rs 59,000 cash from him.
In the third case, YHN Sai (19), a native of Kanuru in Vijayawada, was held for stealing bikes along with his friend A Pavan Kumar. He was a known culprit having previous history of theft cases against him and also went to jail in the past. Cops recovered five bikes and 28gm of gold from him. Pavan Kumar is still at large and police are searching for him.
