Well if you're planning a summer road trip this summer the last thing you need is to have your car breakdown in the heat.

>>if you're planning on taking a driving vacation this summer remember that the heat isn't just tough on you it's tough on your car as well.
Here are some tips to make sure you don't spend part of that vacation on the side of the highway.
First your radiator make sure there's adequate cool it and if it hasn't been flushed in a couple of years do that before you hit the road.
And your coolant is only as good as the hoses it flows through look for leaks cracks peeling or separation.
Now what about your oil the hotter it gets the more important oil becomes make sure you have enough and make sure it's nice and clean.
Then check your battery are the terminals clean is there adequate water.
Most auto parts stores will check this out for free.
Another question when was the last time your air conditioner was serviced, it's super important for summer driving and cheap to check but a thermometer in the event and see how cool the air is getting.
And of course you want to keep a close eye on your temperature gate, the gets in the red you have to pull over and turn off your car or you risk blowing your engine.
Now one thing you might try though if your temperature starts creeping up turn your air conditioning all the way off and your heater all the way on now of course it's going to make you hot, but it might cool down your car just enough so
