Thief nabbed after 17 years

Rajkot: An oil theft accused on the run from Mundra in Kutch district for the past 17 years was nabbed from Ahmedabad on Sunday. Police said accused Bhavarlal Bishnoi (46), had allegedly stolen crude oil worth Rs 7 lakh. “Bishnoi had uploaded the oil supply in his tanker from Adani Port and was supposed to supply it to a company. However, he allegedly siphoned it off in 2002,” said M B Ousurana, inspector with Bhuj LCB. Meanwhile, cops received a tip-off that Bishnoi had been hiding in Odhav in Ahmedabad, following which it dispatched a team to nab him.
